they are all great , in different ways, but he made a series for play for today shown on bbc 1 in the early 1970's -Days of Hope about the general strike of 1926 seen through the perspective of a mining community -it created a huge uproar from the right wing media , parliment etc-since never been shown again.Censorship is very alive in this so called democracy, it took the view that the working class were betrayed by the leaders of the trade unions, a common trait sadly-on that interview they touched on his documentaries about the union leaders of the eighties and their collusion with the state to betray their members , Question of Leadership -its never been shown, apparently the bbc were scared of legal action by the union leaders concerned, these documentaries were made with interviews with rank and file members ,who had been sold out...a common theme ...
His films are all worth watching, and sadly he is shunned by the mainstream in this country, yet is celebrated abroad, Eric Cantona called him 'god' -thats how much he is revered by some ...
