Started keeping paracetamol, ibuprofen and Imodium instants in the car, will the high temperatures have any potentially dangerous effects on the meds, or will it just reduce their efficacy?
Balance things out by keeping some petrol, engine oil and screen wash in your bathroom cabinet.

Check the details on the meds. Most need to be stored below 25C. so its over heating I would worry about - or check with a pharmacist. I did years ago with some out of date opiods that I have in my first aid kit. The pharmacist told me they would become less effective but not be harmful. Other meds I do not know about

Just a huge wuss 🙂 Its 4 dihydrocodine in case of a broken bone in the wilds. Prescribed by my GP for that purpose.

My car is like a pharmacy, with all sorts of painkillers. Aspirin, paracetamol, codeine, naproxen; all for my ever worsening hip. There is a pretty rapid turn over though and they haven't killed me yet. Blood tests do not raise any concerns.
Our neighbour used to be a horse vet, her car was basically a mobile pharmacy...
Luckily no one ever broke into it as it was parked on the road every night with £1000s of drugs in it..
Depends on the drugs but small molecule little white pills are really stable. As long as they are in date they should be fine.
We do testing up to 40°c 75% relative humidity over the life span of the product to make sure nothing nasty appears.
Biopharm molecules are very different but not relevant to this

I'm not entirely sure how hot the glove box [or whatever it's called] actually gets. I was looking through mine yesterday and found partially eaten bar of chocolate down at the bottom..... not melted at all and it's been in there a very long time!

I keep a packet of aspirin and Ibruprofen in the glove box...given they are encased in tablets and in foil blister packs I'm not worried about them becoming harmfull, reduce their efficacy in heat, maybe if they are in there for years, but they are less than a quid a packet if you buy generic ones rather than Nerofen or whatever, so I guess it won't hurt to replace them once a year if unused.
I'd guess proper 'tablets' rather than gel capsules or whatever would be more stable over time.

Just keep a couple of Lemsip sachets in the car. Job jobbed in case it gets too hot - those things love high temps. Combine it with a lolly for an adult Dib Dab.

I have a foil pack in the bag I usually carry with me, Zapain/cocodamol for my arthritis, plus some of them in individual ‘bubbles’ from a larger pack cut up and spread around various little first aid kits I’ve made up using mint tins - some painkillers, antihistamines, a small roll of micropore tape and gauze, with a mini tube of superglue, plus some Zapain and ibuprofen, covers most things. I’ve got a couple of bigger, proper emergency first aid kits in the car, culled from cars that had extras in my last job, on a ‘just in case but I hope it never happens’ basis.
keeping meds in the car might reduce their efficacy due to heat, but it shouldn't make them dangerous just swap them out regularly to be safe.
