We keep getting calls on our landline from a debt collection agency trying to get hold of someone with an asian name that has clearly given his details to his mobile phone provider.
They phone at least once a day, but never more than the 4 times a day required to get in touch with the police.
They say they are phoning on behalf of Three, the mobile provider, and that they want us to call back. Apparently people who have phoned back have just had the debt "transferred" to their name if they give over details, and I don't want to pick up in case it's one of these ones that adds loads of money to your bill.
The number is 0845 355 0306.
Our phone provider says they can place an inquiry into how often the number is calling but not block it.
Anyone any tips? Fortunately we're moving soon but it's a pain as the wife works from home a few days a week and they call at weekends.
Block the number with a call screener?
Baws, wrong forum...
Bwaarp- they're awfully expensive for a solution to a problem we shouldn't be having.
If you answer explain that they are not there, accuse of harrasment and demand their details. Report to the FSA/Supervisor of Solicitors (I think thats what they are)
Be cautious as it may be a scam and they are fishing for your details... I can see it now you protesting your innoncence saying that you are not who they are looking for and then being drawn into a "well who are you" conversation.
