Looking to replace our large open canoe with at least one kayak (we also have a SUP). Sit on top ones like the Feelfree ones seem to fit the bill but I wasnt sure if there would also be room for the dog (springer). She loves coming out on the SUP.
Any suggestions for a 1 man kayak with enough space for a dog? A 2 man just seems to big and a pain to transport by myself.
Had a Perception Triumph 13 sit on top, has a small seat for a child moulded just in front of the main seat, can be picked up relatively cheap second hand now, quite quick for a SOT too.
Are you selling your canoe? Might be interested depending on what it is/where you are.
I have a perception triumph sot. Great kayak and the dog could sit behind you in the open luggage compartment quite easily. Will it stay there though, or would the water be too tempting?!!!!
I was wondering about the rear luggage trays you get. Saw a couple of Fat Yak kayaks not too far away that look okay and I have hired those down in Coombe Martin, will add the perceptions to the watch list.
I did wonder about the Feelfree with slightly extended deck for a child. By the time you factor in hassle it might be easier to just buy new.
Canoe is an old Pelican DLX or something (but not branded Pelican). We are just south of Bristol.
oh and as for jumping in - she's scared of swimming but loves being on the sup and canoe and is a bit braver in terms of swimming now she has a life jacket. At 10 years old she's not going to suddenly grow water wings and start jumping in on purpose.
