Looking at buying a double sit on top kayak
Any easy way of lifting onto roof of a T5?
Get a rack with rear roller fitted.
Or
Get a lifting rack (chuffing expensive)
Or
Get a plasterers step or two and a friend.
I've managed it on a Trafic with no major traumas.
Open passenger door.
Put front of kayak on door.
Walk to rear
Put rear of kayak on roofbar.
Walk back to front.
Put front of kayak on roofbar
Strap on.
Had a T5 for 6 years and carried a sit on top kayak on top many times. Just lifted it up at the back, walked underneath and put it on my head. Then fed the kayak on the rear bar first.
A rear roller rack would make it a cinch.
Easy way: karitek roof rack.
Cheap way: foldable step.
Gumotex Solar. In bag in boot.
Get T5 suspension converted to air . Push button to drop it on it's arse, load Kayak, press button to take suspension back to full height......
Or get a step.
Bloody useful to keep in the van for other things too
A second hand Karritek roofloader thing:

Thule slidebars
I climb up the inside of the back door and stand on the edge of the roof. I'm not tall enough to do it any other way!
Get a rear window fitted that opens like a hatch and slide it in through that.

Just be aware that if you shove it too hard it will come out of the windscreen (lesson learned the hard way by a friend of mine)
