Thinking about getting a Karchar K2 for patio cleaning and other items round the house like weeding gravel. If I could get it off the deck and up high enough will it clean the black mould off upvc soffits and fascias or does that need elbow grease?
I am on my 3rd K2 - all replaced under warranty. The replacement procedure was a world of disappointment and deflated expectations. They are a lightweight machine and not particularly robust or long-lived. On the first to commutator self-destructed. On the second it started shorting and sparking internally, lighting up the insides of the yellow plastic (that was on it's second use). The third is still going and outside of warranty now.
I would consider a decent Screwfix one where if it breaks, Screwfix will likely replace it over the counter.
The K2 patio cleaner attachment thing that I thought was a gimmick actually worked quite well.
I’ve had my K2 for about 6 years. Gets used for rinsing really mucky bikes, washing the car and truck & cleaning patio/path once a year.
RE warranty- buy yours from Bn Q and they will swap it on the spot. I too am on my third one.
They are like the ford fiesta of jetwashes, cheap, everyone has got one, work if you don't expect too much, but not amazing. IF I was gonna buy another it would not be a karcher, unless BnQ were selling it..
I also recommend getting something other than Karcher. Mine (K2) lasted 3 years and about 5 uses before lighting up orange inside and emitting smoke. Seems luck of the draw if you get one with longevity or not.
When it was working, it cleaned up the patio flags nicely, but wrecked the pointing between them - too powerful, even with then patio cleaner attachment. I am trying WetAndForget this year instead of buying a new pressure washer.
Just had to replace one of the connectors in mine as it had split and was shooting water around inside the casing. Less than a tenner online delivered and cheaper than a new one.
Works fine for patio, car and cleaning horseshit out of the horsebox too. Had it about 4 years now.
