No typo, exactly that.

Yesterday for the third time now I spent the day at the local Sheriff court waiting to be called as a witness for the prosecution of a taxi driver who knocked down a woman on a bike back in June of 2013. Each time it comes to court she does a no show and they issue an arrest warrant, how long does this kind of thing go on for? has anyone else had a similar experience? I am awaiting my 4th citation in the post. Ho Hum.

Hmm, arrest warrant for the cyclist seems harsh 🙂

Or is the taxi driver a woman too ?

Or does your OP have a she/he typo 🙂

Taxi driver is the accused and the no show and a woman.

Further clarification needed.

you mean - "is she hot?"

Are we supposed to discuss active court cases on social media?

So - the female taxi driver who is on trial didn't turn up - is that correct?

If you're a witness or jury member then I believe keeping stumn is the recommended approach.

Aye no one likes a grass ..you saw nothing #doit4derek

IANAL but surely you can ask how often this happens as that is about other cases not this one

how long does this kind of thing go on for? has anyone else had a similar experience?

Not about this case.

Check the tread title there is very little "active" about this case...

My question is more of how often can a case be adjourned for the same reason, she may be innocent of the charge btw, I actually don't know what the charge is!

Edit if there is a reason to delete this then MODS feel free!

OP - being inconvenienced by the Scottish judicial system on a regular basis, in my experience the answer is 'as many times as they feel like'. Sorry 🙁

Come to England the presumption is if the defendant can't be bothered to show up to the trial we will crack on without him.

I'm still not sure who "the woman" is. The one who doesn't show?
