Saw who did it

Know where they are

Have just hung up the phone to the police after being ‘on hold’ for 17min

These cut backs are ace!

Was connected told them what was going on then put through to Surrey control, gave up after 17mins

The fuzz always used to take bike theft dead seriously until "the cut backs".

I chased two guys who knicked bikes from the shop I was working in, found them loading into a car blocked their car and nearly got run over all while on the phone to the police gave them the reg number and descriptions etc

Apparently the car belonged to a woman in the next town and when they asked her she said she didn't know anything so that was that... Also lost my bonus that month for bikes being stolen as a thanks from my boss... Wouldn't chase anyone again

Saw someone yanking a bike out it's cable lock once, yelled at them and they buggered off. Then approached by two neds demanding to know what was going on. When the woman started fumbling inside her shell suit top I resigned myself to the inevitable, the warrant card that appeared instead somewhat defused the situation.

You don't have to physically intervene to stop these things, often just calling out their brass necks is enough, they rely on folks ignorance, willful or otherwise.

Keep an eye out for the owner. Tell them name and location of the thief. Police unlikely to do anything so let natural justice be restored........
