I'm on my third Ford Galaxy, and just wondering if there's anything else I should consider?
I love the way that I can put 3 or even 4 bikes in the back, with just the front wheels off and seatposts dropped (this is the real reason dropper posts were invented). Especially after my friend had his bikes taken from his garage after returning with them on a bike rack.
S-Max? Another friend has a super-fancy van, but I'm not sure I would get approval for that unless it was really nice.
And I want that thing that bleeps at you when you're about to move into a lane and there's someone there already. I've never actually done it, and I'd quite like to keep it that way!
Berlingo standard answer. Transit connect mpv?

Probably because you use your mirrors? Why not just carry on doing that? 😉

If interior space is your determining factor then probably not unless it's an equally large MPV like a Sharan or Alhambra or a van.
Smax is nicer to drive but, crucially, not as tall inside.
I love our mk3 Galaxy, it's ace. I'd have another one if/when this one goes pop.
How do you feel about japanese imports? There's a whole world of JDM MPVs that are brilliant and never sold here - but they're easy to import and pretty well supported with parts and service. More practical than many euro MPVs and more comfortable than the commercial-based stuff.
You can get a big enduro bike in an smax with seat dropped and front wheel out just fine. You can get 2 in and only have to drop one of the 2nd row of seats. 2 seats down and 4 will go in.
We had an old 1994 (L reg?) Toyota Lucida which had loads of cool stuff fitted as standard but it was bloody thirsty! It died when the head gasket went, which they all do eventually, apparently.
I just swapped from a Galaxy to a Berlingo and the ease of fitting two large full sis bikes with both wheels and the saddles up in there upright was the main reason.
Its not quite as plush as the Galaxy but it’s almost as big, the space is just as useable and it’s halved my insurance costs as well as being £20 p/y to tax.
64 plate Galaxy with 45k miles on it was a straight swap for a 65 plate Berlinda with 2.5k miles.
