Clearing out our boxroom yesterday. It's a basic Ricoh KR10 with a couple of lenses and a flashgun.

Where's the best places for film and processing these days if at all?

Any tips / advice much appreciated.

Film available online from many places , dev your own black and white or places like Snappy Snaps are great should be one local.
Being able to copy your negs to digital using a digital camera is very popular as a way of getting your pictures to all the digital services .
Old darkroom equipment can be free/cheep if you want to play with that.
speedgraphic.co.uk hae lots of goodies.

It is expensive indulgent and some folks will not understand , but if its something you enjoy then its up to you not them!

It uses the Pentax K-mount if I remember? So, lots of very high quality lenses that you can put on it. And lots of really crap ones. But the crap ones are at least very cheap. Can't comment on film processing as I only run B+W film though my SLRs if and when I do actually bother using them. Stack of Nikon SLRs, including the F4 and F5. Much prefer the F4 though; it may be technologically inferior, but it's such an utter beast of a camera. Love film SLRs; regardless of the new cost of any camera, put the same lens in front of it, and it'll take just as good quality pictures as the next camera. Unlike with digital...

I have an F4 too , its definitely a special beast , the viewfinder is excellent and it feels like it is made out of solid metal , which it is of course.

Development: depends where you are Derek. A lot of the chain spots (Spielmanns/Snappy etc) seem to have closed down, and Boots and Jessops last time I used them were both expensive and slow. There's a new-ish lab opened in Leeds that I'm using for colour dev, called 'Take It Easy'. They've been very good so far, they do colour and B&W dev and scanning but not prints.

(PS: Nikon F4, FM and a Minolta X-300 😉 )

Pentax fan here and now named Ricoh, I've collected so many lenses that use k mount
I have to get rid of some as I only really use my 70-300

I have an old screw mount Pentax SV and a lovely Contax 139 languishing in a cupboard along with a massive Metz Mecablitz I used to illuminate rally cars with.

It's nice to get back to basics and use film sometimes. I found it really helpful in properly understanding exposure when I first got more seriously into photography.

I would probably shoot more, but the cost of film and processing is a bit offputting.

For years, I've sent most of my film to Photo Express in Hull for developing - they do a develop and scan only option for £6 plus a couple of quid P&P. I'd rather have them digitally and then order large prints of shots I really like from that, than a whole roll of tiny 6x4s, including all the duff frames. They only do C41 process, so not normal B&W film, but I often use a C41 B&W film like Ilford XP2 Super for this reason (I'm sure purists will tell me I'm missing the point there).

A friend gave me some Kodak Portra so I'm going to have to get it developed locally, which is going to work out much more expensive.

Forged steel. With added lead ballast. 😀 The F5 is a superb camera, and also very solid, with excellent ergonomics, but somehow just doesn't feel as substantial as the F4. Both feel much more robust than the Canon EOS-1 though, which I also have. Plus, I own a Pentax K-1000; the AK-47 of the camera world. Come the Apocalypse, the only things remaining will be cockroaches, Raleigh Grifters and Pentax K-1000s. 😀
