Quite a few of my friends have been in touch to say they are getting junk emails that, on the surface, appear to have been sent by me. On closer inspection the actual email address is not linked to me in any way, but my name appears as sender.

Given that the address used is not mine, I assume I haven't been hacked, but they are still going to my contacts. I am not certain but I think the contacts are being mined from Facebook rather than my email contacts.

Should I be worried, is there anything I can do, do I need to don tinfoil pants?

Do you have a common name?  Is it likely to be a coincidence?

As a precaution I'd be running a malware scan -  https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/thankyou/ - and then changing your email and Facebook passwords.  Suggest your friends do the same.

Oh, yeah, review your Facebook security with specific regard to apps and permissions.

If your email had been hacked the email would be coming from your account/actual address. What they are trading on is a known association between your name and the recipient which could've come from lots of sources - social media, someone else's hacked email account, older non-encrypted email (it wasn't always encrypted between mail servers across the internet and in some cases still isn't).
