Scheduled for september!!!

It's only meant to be an exhibition but I honestly dread to think what tyson will do to Jones if he connects!

Jones Jr is one of my favourite fighters, in his prime absolutely sensational. But he relied soley on reactions (now gone) and had an iffy chin..remember what Enzo Mac did to him!!

Bizarly, I reckon the version of Jones that won the heavy weight title may have beaten the version of tyson that was fighting back then. He was that good.

I'll probably still watch this one however..out of morbid curiosity more than anything..

Can Tyson control himself enough for an exhibition fight ?
Pretty sure in a "fight" he'd win hands down.

Wow! Now I'm not one for pay per view, but I'd spend a few quid on that! Dunno how Roy's been keeping himself, but Mike looks in decent nick. Would have been an interesting fight BITD, depending on which point in their respective careers.

Absolutely...pre jail tyson beats any version of Jones imo as just far too big and powerful. The Jones jnr that beat Ruiz in 2003 I think beats 2003 tyson handily though, although that's not really much to brag about given a year later Danny Williams stopped him.

Both great fighters in their prime no doubt, but i think whilst tyson was very very good, Jones Jr was that little bit more special.

Tyson in his prime - heavyweight; Jones in his prime - middleweight.
So comparing them is pointless.
So is the fight between 2 has-beens. Garbage to give them a payday.

You won't be watching then dez!

I do agree they are woefully past their best. I do think however that Jones was so good it's not ridiculous to compare how he'd have got on against the top heavies of the 90s. Although the answer I think is 'not so good'! I reckon he'd have done far better than herbie hide though!

Btw..I'd argue Jones prime was at super middle /light heavy..

He was an alien at mw when he turned pro but not many fights there at all. Not typically in the mix of GOAT mw discussions for that reason, although objectively speaking he looked phenomenal. Career prime defo supermid/ lh like you say.

As much as I’d like to see this it’ll be with head guards, large gloves, Covid precautions and the referee’s direction with regard to it not becoming a “fight”.

I very much doubt it’ll be the Tyson year-up we all want to see, plus I’d like to know what proportion of the ppv actually gets to charity before I give any more money to Sky.

Nope. I like boxing.

Yeah, definitely Light heavy where every punch that landed on his chin knocked him cold. Deffo.
I'll give you Super middle, seeing as this was the best win of his career -

RJJ, Toney, Benn, Eubank at their sm peaks.

Think RJJ would have been top dog had they fought each other.

Rjj would have destroyed the lot of them.. Eubank pretty much admitted as much..

14 wins straight at the weight before moving up to heavyweight says otherwise. It's pretty well known that when he moved back down he was shot, so no one that knows the slightest thing about boxing would think his peak was post Ruiz...

So exiting that you have felt the need to comment on it..multiple times..

Not sure why me posting this thread bears any relevance to when his prime was however. I posted it as I follow boxing and two previously stand out boxers are fighting each other. Will I be paying for it, absolutely not. Does it intrigue me..not so much now but back in 2003 it definitely would have..

Either way, if you aren't Interested don't bother posting on it. You appear to have limited knowledge of rjj anyway so its not going to be a great loss..
