Anyone else got a very odd email from them saying your card is closing?
Hidden in the text it says "John Lewis will make available information about their new credit provider soon."
Seems a very poorly worded email, without a smooth changeover arranged up front they'll just loose lots of people to other providers.....
flappyfoot,you are in luck.
For £10 I can broker a seamless changeover to your new John Lewis CC provider .

👍😉🙃
Yeah, I had something (possibly a letter?) saying that the were changing card provider and we'd get new cards. Not had an email though (unless it's gone into Spam)

Thanks for that - when should I expect my new card?
My first thoughts on seeing the thread title were "Why are John Lewis starting a cycling club? Trying to get rid of all that Rapha stock?"
Anyway, as you were.
Trying to get rid of all that Rapha stock?”
Last time I was there they had Rapha stuff in the men's section....
Surprised they haven't jumped on the MAMIL bandwagon and brought out their own range....
I got the email today. Sounds like they've not sorted out the relationship with the new provider yet. You would have thought they'd have for it all lined up and told us now exactly what will happen (issued a new card etc) rather than just saying they cancel it from a certain date.
The letter I had from gave the name of the new provider and I think it was moving from HSBC to Newday (or another less recognised name that I associate with slightly dodgy credit available at time of purchase like Klarna or Black Horse).
not had an email about any further changes or updates though.
found their press release https://www.johnlewispartnership.co.uk/media/press/y2022/jl-finance-to-relaunch-partnership-rewards-credit-card.html
We got the letter a few weeks back
The card will still be John Lewis its just the underwriters will change

Yes - seemed very half baked....
We got the letter a few weeks ago as well. I assumed that we had to re-apply as they were not able to sign up for a credit card with a new provider on our behalf (which seems like a sensible sort of rule to have in place).

Interesting point - does seem a bit of a clunky process though, if you have to re-apply and then only get a low credit limit etc you may as well just pick someone else...
I wonder what prompted them to change provider - seems a bit of an own goal.
The vouchers halved in value some years ago - no longer as attractive as it once was.

It did make me think that this is probably a good opportunity to see if there's a better option for getting cashback/rewards on the sort of regular spending card that has its balance cleared in full every month.
Maybe because it's imperative to tell cardholders that their card is going to be invalid in the future as soon as that is known. For recurring payments, instalments, refunds etc.

Yes, but you'd also think they'd have sorted out a replacement - they have known this was coming for ages - got an email about it a few months back.

Yep, same here.
If you find anything let me know!
I have a whole pile of JL vouchers we need to spend - cashback would probably be more useful.

I love getting the JL vouchers. I don't usually shop at Waitrose, so it's a good excuse to go in a buy a nice single malt a couple of times a year.
Newday run the amazon CC and it's not a bad experience - decent app, integrates with a lot of the modern banking stuff, etc.
Sacked off the JL one when our local Waitrose closed and I found the website for paying bills annoying. Hadn't even set up a DD as you needed to print off and post(!) a form to do it.
