Our current Plusnet contract is up for renewal soon so starting to look for cheaper options as the new price has gone up a fair bit.
JL seem well priced but seem to have some not so good reviews but they all do.
Anyone using them?
Not using it but it's Plusnet underneath so if it's cheaper and you're happy with your existing Plusnet broadband it seems a good idea to switch
it’s Plusnet underneath
Ah, good to know. No issues with PN apart from the price-hike..
I've always recommended Zen, and even more so now as my bill has just gone down by ~30%. £30 for unlimited 40 MBit FTTC and line rental. (no point paying for more as my line maxes at ~35 Mbit)
I've used JL, the changeover wasn't quick and had to chase. Apart from that all OK. Switched to Plusnet and after a year am now with NOW which had very mixed reviews but all good so far. The best I've ever had for broadband and phone was Sky, their service was excellent.
Plusnet were good maybe years ago but I was giving them 39 quid a month they would only go down to 29 still way above their new customers get offered, the orange line was on every day with them. SSE now £13 moved my gas and leccy to get the deal but works as fast as Plusnet but no orange line up to now

Spoken to them? Mine just went down
Spoken to them?
Via chat, yes. Best deal the could offer is up £5/month for the same package.
Interesting, I'd certainly be heading elsewhere too. What package have you got at the moment?

My parents use JL broadband and its been very reliable and decent speed. Maximum line speed was around 20MB, they get 18 - 19MB. No issues to date.
I I also noticed i was paying way too much for plus net
They wouldn't drop below £30 for line rental & Fibre even though their new customer offers were way cheaper
Had a look a round and found john lewis were much cheaper (even with the price increase in dec) - who use plusnet to provide the srevice
So i'm now in the middle of the process of plus transferring my line and fibre to plusnet 😎 from plusnet
I'll let you know how the transfer goes next week
Got a shiny new router & a echo plus as part of the deal
Plus its ony a 12 month contract so at the end of it i'll probably switch back to plusnet on one of their new customer deals
I've used them for a couple of years with no issues, good speeds and reliability.
The main attraction for me is they have a good set price which does not shoot up after 12/18m so you don't have to constantly go through the move or renegotiate dance every time with the chance of falling out of contract for a while and chasing a switch etc.
We switched to them from plusnet taking advantage of a gift card for John Lewis. Works fine.
I've done 18 months with JL, phone as and internet. Was okay but sometimes flaky in my rural area. Router was rubbish.
They upped their prices (£26->£31) and I took the advantage of an early opt out to go Vodafone fibre. Much better connection and cheaper too at £23.
Transfer to John Lewis from Plus Net went through last night
Wasn't seamless as they had not linked the serial number of the new router to my account
But telephone support was very good and had me up and running in 5 minutes
Seem to have the same speed as before
New router is giving much better wireless coverage, and a more minor plus point is you can turn the lights off on it altogether
