Well not quite, after 10 years in the army im going to be going back to full time civi life in july. The hunt for work is frustrating atm because im so far from my release date. Had 3 jobs that wanted a start asap and the bigger companies are reviewing hiring and firing in april. Still spending my time applying and registering interest should hopefully leave me with a job 🙂
It aint half nerve racking this job changing lark and i cant even go out for a bike ride.
think bt are taking on openreach engineers and they take a lot of ex forces
Im pretty spoilt for choice as a vehicle mechanic its just hoping the work that im finding now is still about in 6 months. The only draw back to having a 12 month notice period.
Parkesie - where are you going to be living mate?
If you fancy this part of the world (Germany) you could walk into a job whenever you like as a car mechanic.
Will be living crewe staffordshire area so looking around the midlands for work.
Jag @ i54?
If it's the car trade you're looking at mate, then look at JLR they've jobs galore at the moment
The AA take a lot of reme guys on - as long as you don't mind working antisocial hours it's a pretty good job. Big company so usually some vacancies.
Looking into AA, jlr are in the call back in april to try pile. Looking cars hgv roadside pretty much anything that will pay the bills and let me ride my bike 🙂
Been back from Canada for a month now and its all been abit manic sorting out the house building a garage and applying for jobs. So far im 2 for 2 on interviews and job offers. Couple more interviews to go to but so far its all looking up 🙂
An old mate went from the army into the AA. He now works part time as a delivery driver for Sainsbury's - imagine my surprise when he turned up at my door with a delivery for us (I hadn't seen him in 15+ years)!
