In need of recommendations for a job site. I don’t know what kind of job I want other than 4 days a week, not around loads of people, and no manual labour. And definitely no teaching. That's what I want out of as soon as possible.

So it's kind of hard to search for a job when I'm not sure what I want. I'm not driven by work in any way, but I work hard to do the job well.

I've tried Indeed, Total jobs, Reeds.

LinkedIn can be good if you make a good profile, local recruitment agents, look at local business parks to see what businesses are located there.

Plus have a think about what you want, what skills are transferable. You sound a bit jaded by your job and you’ll need to be positive to get a good job. I’m sure teaching has loads of transferable skills.

Also get some interviews under your belt you can always decline

I was in a similar position about 12 months ago. As well as the normal google search/monster/indeed; RestLess seems to push itself for the over 50's which means a lot of 'semi-retirement' jobs in a variety of industries.

After that, I found going to bigger employees and browsing their jobs/careers section worked well for me. They often have a search by location facility. I tried National Trust, English Heritage, Forestry Commission as I prefer not to be stuck at a desk/in an office.

Semi retired sounds good to me. I'm not over 50 but looking to drop from 5 to 4 days a week.

Didn't think about National trust so I'll do a bit of research.

I know people knock them, but sign up with some recruitment agencies. My wife is always getting job offers from them.

Ha! I'm over qualified to be an MP. IQ is over 50 and I actually care about the world.

Snak food tastwr would be good but my digestive system is screwed so can't eat most of it.

Emergency call handler sounds interesting. I'll look into that.

Have a look at high tech manufacturing, if you get the right one can be no manual labour (lifting & carrying) and easy to start with no experience and work up. Look for medical devices, high end audio, electronics or contract manufacturers.

There may be vacancies or they may have a different policy this week.  They offer some of the most wonderful places in the country to work but rightly or wrongly they have not had the best reputation as employers.
