If a job post/application has a PDF and/or Word document to download and complete, but does not state if it should be in written form (hand writing) or completed electronically....

What is the correct way of completion ?

Go for electronic.

Download in word.....type out....then pdf the word doc and submit it in pdf format

I agree with the above but possibly send it as both a PDf and Word or just Word. You would not belive how many customers we deal with who don't have a PDF viewer installed.

Another question.....

I am 38 years old, so my CV list is quite detailed.

How far back should I go on employment history....all the way back to the very first job ?

Don't leave any gaps, but don't waste space on elaborating on jobs which are not relevant to the one you are applying for.

Yeah use the most relevant jobs, keep the skills pertinent, perhaps even just bullet point your first few jobs or the irrelevant ones. Make sure your skills are very visible.

Have a google for creative CV's, look for a good template.

if they want it in handwriting (sadistic, misguided ****ers that they are), they'll specify. save yourself the trauma otherwise.

Handwriting? What are you applying for, GCSE English teacher?

If god had intended us to write things down, he wouldn't have given us keyboards. Do it electronically.

You would not belive how many customers we deal with who don't have a PDF viewer installed.

You wouldn't believe how many people I've dealt with who have a PDF viewer installed but, when faced with a PDF, open up Microsoft Word, go 'file / open' and then ask me why it doesn't work. !"£$ers
