So I've tweaked my CV so it's more suited to the job I'm applying for but what should I say on the covering letter without repeating my CV?
The key thing is to subtly offer to sleep with them if you get the job. Don't be too overt with this tho.
let them know what you can bring to the company and what they can do for you (to a lesser extent than the ass kissing)

The covering letter should highlight specifics about why you're good for them and why they and that job are just right for you.
By including paraphrased quotes from their advert and website you will stand out from the rest because it is clear that you have put some thought into your application, and not just sent them your standard insincere covering note.
Knowledge - Skill - Attitude
That's what most people recruit for.
So this is what I know and how it relates to the role
This is how I apply that knowledge (give examples)
and I am full to brimming with the right type of chipper, can do attitude and love your company because...
Ideally in less than 3 paragraphs.
