150 people in serious trouble, what appears to be a close link to recent well publicised atrocities.

just as sad is the fact that its considered too far away, or too foreign? to register. (maybe jumping the gun there #nopunintended)

15mins and no reply on STW and surely not just because you posted a link and no comments - but you expected that, thats why you had to spell out where Mali is.

every rare occassion where im heartened by humanity is massively outnumbered by those where im disgusted.

Bit quick off the mark there chief, it's still happening and there's not much info out there, I think all we can really say is holy crap, and hope it's not as bad as it looks like it could be. Talk of hostages being released so that'd give it a very different light if true.

holy crap - apposite

I'm not so sure about too far away or too foreign for the west to care - bomb in a bazaar, fair enough, make the accusation but this is presumably a western hotel for business people & ex-pats.

🙁

Reuters news agency reports that the gunmen attacking the Radisson Blu hotel in Mali's capital Mali have released some hostages including those able to recite verses of the Koran.

Christ it is getting worse out there

/\/\ not much choice for them anymore, once you've established the likely goal is maximum human fatalities
