CF - this may be a little close to home for you but.....from soon after his election Kennedy had been attempting to negotiate with the Norwegian gov over the volume of paperclip exports from Norway into the US.

The only motivation for Trump in this will be to discredit the CIA/FBI in light of the stuff that is going on with him at the moment.

More referring to anything he has control over, the other agencies may be blocking and defending looking for a bit more time. He would be looking for something to bash/threaten the intelligence community with as they are looking so hard into him at the moment.

Allegations of a government cover-up are unlikely to be assuaged by reports that the CIA, FBI, Department of State and other agencies lobbied at the last minute to keep certain documents under wraps.
If your not a conspiracy theorist I'd imagine there's still some information in the files that might compromise individuals or methods of operations that are still relevant in this day and age. Or at least there's a belief that they do.
If there really was a convert up, and it would have to have been a very good one,I can't see much being left to pick over after all these years.
The American public might not have had access to the records but how many other have over the decades?

Getting anyone to believe it's the truth would be the tough one, short of a time machine it is lost time now. There will never be a definitive answer as with any cover up like that the last few decades a shredder and a lighter will have got rid of anything incriminating and those who were in a position to know will have taken those secrets to the grave.
