The book is excellent. God forbid that our politicians are still as sleazy and incompetent.

Paddington 3 got a bit dark.

There was Vaseline!

Huge Rant on form, apparently.

Always thought there was more acting ability in there than his portrayal of the stuttering English naif...

Well you missed the point then; the actors were trying and almost succeeding in portraying the way beople actually spoke and behaved in those days. They were stiff, formal, narrow-minded and spoke with clipped BBC accents. Anybody aged under about 50 just won't have any idea of how it was back in the years before it became unfashionable to talk posh.

I was surprised to see a black security man in the Commons when I'd have thought those kinds of jobs were a closed shop for white protestant Anglo-Saxons.

The stiff I was referring to was a little play on words ..would it have helped if I had said it was a little too gay ?

Fun fact - my uncle was a ‘close personal friend’ of his for several years before it all kicked off in court.

The fun will really start with episode 2 when they try to kill Scott then episode 3 when the establishment mounts one of the most biased High Court trials in the history of Britain, to protect Thorpe and discredit Scott.

How gay would you have liked it to be? Perhaps you could describe the relevant elements of the programme.

What with all the mucky goings on, do you reckon Thorpe and Cyril ever got it on?

Or was their mutual interest confined to what Keith Harding had to offer...

Ranos ..why on earth would I want to do that ..Ive already said that I lost interest after 5 mins ..due to the fairly graphic homosexual element ..

Why do you need it explaining to you ..didnt you understand ?

Who would have thought that a drama about Jeremy Thorpe would involve some depiction of homosexuality?

Russell T Davies has no history of bringing such acts to the screen in his prior work.

Outraged, etc..

Cool ..youre obviously a fan ..😁

I've never followed his prior works so wouldn't know..

Perhaps it was because the homosexuality was so front & centre in the programme ..whereas it is not so prominent in GOT.

I can't say I understand either. It wasn't graphic in any way.

Wind your neck in JHJ, it's almost like you're trying to conflate homosexuLity with paedophilia and/or promiscuity.  And no I don't want a big list of links to YouTube or random websites.

What homosexual elements were graphic enough for you to lose interest? And is it something specific to male homosexuality?

You're right of course, how foolish of me to question the fact that Jeremy Thorpe, Cyril Smith and Jimmy Savile used to visit a known member of an organized paedophile network, who went on to become head of the GCHQ Masonic Lodge.

Obviously an isolated incident, nothing to see here, etc etc

Check out Peter Cook as the trial judge on YouTube, it's priceless.
