I guess we are going to see a fair few Cold War-esqe type series from now on.
Currently streaming on Amazon Prime
I had sync issues. Using a Denon Dolby approved soundbar. Had to change the audio stream to DTS.
It's because you can't play Jack Ryan in Dobly
There are three options for audio. It was default on Dolby Atmos. The first on the list is "Stereo", second is "Dolby Digital Plus".
I don't see this fourth option: "Dobly"?
Cool stuff. That's Xmas viewing sorted.
I loved S01 abd liked S02 so fingers crossed.
Just spotted it today and figured there'd be a thread - also enjoyed the first 2 series, concerned they don't usually manage 3 good series in a row. Of anything.
Is this a new series?
Enjoyed the first two...
Yeah, watched it over the last couple of days, season 1 was good, season 2 a bit off, but this one is pretty good, feels like a real Tom Clancy series, nothing too complicated, but flows well and looks like it had a decent enough budget,
I thought S1 was great, S2 ok but not nearly as good; watched first ep of this last night & thought it was crap 😂 🤷♂️ But I’ll watch a few more, might get into itI loved S01 abd liked S02 so fingers crossed.

I'm looking forward to that!
Hmm. When did Jack stop being an analyst who gets drawn into things and instead is a special forces type?
Wasn’t Jack Ryan previously a Seal or something before becoming an analyst? I’ve liked both the first 2 seasons and I’m 4 episodes into season 3 and I’m gripped. Love it.

In the books he was regular army, glossed over in the TV I think.

Marine lootenant injured in a helicopter crash.
yeah exactly. The USP of the JR character is he’s a desk-jockey thrown into these situations unexpectedly, yet in the first ep of this he’s leading an amphibious commando raid roping up the side of a boat 😂 That is what the “John Clark” character is for surely?! Just turns it into generic action/spy bollocks no different to anything else. When did Jack stop being an analyst who gets drawn into things and instead is a special forces type?
possibly in this reboot. The Tom Clancy JR was a marine but not sure he saw combat, soon became a millionaire stockbroker (!) then a history professor. 😂Wasn’t Jack Ryan previously a Seal or something before becoming an analyst?
Not saying Tom Clancy stuff is highbrow (cos it ain’t 😀) but they’ve really dumbed this down - it’s basically just videogame plot level now with zero character development.
