when i connect my ipod to my laptop it finds my ipod,but when i do the same with my wifes it will not find her itouch ,is it best for me to load another itunes account on her own laptop?thanks

I'm no expert but i guess it depends how you want to organise things, e.g. use separate libraries on the 2 laptops?, share same library on some shared space?, etc.

Yes.
We only have one computer, but two user accounts with separate itunes accounts for our music.

Only reason i can think it wont see it would be if your itunes version is not updated or maybe the connector is broken? does it work on other computers.

You might want a separate account for some reasons, but what you describe should not be happening.

You dont need separate account either, especially if you share musc tastes. Just use playlists to manage what goes onto which device (when you get it working).

Genuine question - have you tried turning Touch and laptop off and on again (proper reboot of both)?

An app called AppleMpbileDeviceService should pick up the devices - it could be that the software version on the iTouch is out of date and mobile device service doesn't detect it.
