got a new computer and for the amount of music stored on the old one I might as well start again.
I want to be able to rip cds, download off www, creates playlists etc.
music will be stored on NAS and I want to play it through ps3, android phones and one day a sonos or similar.
what is recommended?
thanks!
no one?? 🙁
think i used windows media player to rip my cds to flac, stored on laptop (you can stick yours on a nas)
i play this through a squeezebox (you can use sonos)
mediamonkey was recommended to me once but i didnt really get on with it, so just use windows software already on my laptop.
EDIT: if you wanted the same music on android phone, id be ripping seperate files to mp3 as well as flac for the nas. mp3 on phone, flac on nas.
flac is higher quality I assume?
hadn't thought of media player!
Doubletwist?
*googles*
Is the nice thing about double twist is having a nice app that means you can listen to your tunes on your phone via wifi?
If so would that work using a NAS? or would the laptop have to be on? hoping to avoid that really.
Windows? dbpoweramp for ripping CDs
FLAC is a 'lossless' audio converter...basically a zip file for choons. It's bit perfect, so there is no loss of information / audio quality. Apple lossless in iTunes does the same.flac is higher quality I assume?
will my ps3 play flac?
just ripped a cd to the nas using media player and played it on my phone using the android wd ap whilst viewing pics on the ps3... this might not seem like a huge achievement to most but for me???
i'm chuffed to bits!
good work man 🙂
