It's fantastic, insofar as the birds are in full-feast mode, and the sky around our house looks like something out of a Hitchcock film.

Horrible buggers. Brown Knoll below Kinder is bad for them.

It's not the same here in the UK. When I lived in Thailand flying ant day meant a free meal for everybody - geckos, stray dogs, and people.

Was it flying ants day again today?

https://www.wunderground.com had patches of green moving north east from around Southampton, but no rainfall measured on the precipitation option. Just returned from popping out to the shops, ants and flying ants everywhere around Bitterne precinct!

Yup, they've hit Chiswick - seriously big buggers too; I half expected one of them to come past on a moped and rob my phone.

North London is awash with the buggers.
Just eaten a score on the way home from Epping.
Pint required.

They were swarming at the front of my house last week, and in the centre of town today. The swifts were flying low, screaming their sooty little heads off!

I'm resurrecting this thread again, wondering if those pesky ants are causing havoc... Huge green "rain cloud" covering most of the south coast on Wunderground https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=50.93&lon=-1.36&sat=1 , but very few weather stations reading anything but "0" for rainfall!

Bit annoyed at this one, went to bed last night with forecast reckoning it would be dry all morning according to Met Office, when originally they said it would start raining all day from 0900ish. Woke up late (~0800ish) after late turbo workout for me, thinking I could get an outdoor recovery ride in this morning, but there's been green passing over Southampton since ~0930. 🙁
