Sorry for another Christmas thread.
It oddly doesn't feel like Christmas but there is nothing negative in my head about feeling like this!
Felt really down this morning but had a small visit from my small family earlier and feel pretty ok. I find Christmas difficult usually but I'm ok at the moment. That's a win.
Already cooked the "cook in a bag, pre stuffed" asda turkey crown... tastes bloody lovely too.😁
Aunt Bessy is over tomorrow to do almost all of the rest, my biggest "worry" is getting the gravy right. I hate cooking but I do love food. I even love sprouts, they have to be melt in the mouth though.
Still need to write something pithy and loving in the oh's Christmas card but that's about it.
My lad called because the pop out rear/ side window on his citroen cactus was broken but he's bodged it with gorilla glue. Well done son.👍
The fact it doesn't really feel like Christmas in my head is actually strangely nice and allowing me to enjoy it for a change.
Have a great day tomorrow everyone!
Christmas is exactly how you want to make it. Full on celebration or just some relaxed catch up time. Enjoy.
If that Gorilla glue ever fails you can force the cover of the window latch off with a knife and fasten the nut back on with lock tight and snap the cover back on, my mates does the same every 6 months or so, I need to get some lock tight or I'll end up doing it forever!
Enjoy tomorrow!

Cheers mate. I haven't seen the problem but it appears that a bit was rounded off? Sorted now though.
However.... Bless him.... how do you remove a patch of gorilla glue from car paint?😂
Both of you enjoy tomorrow too!
It's the weather innit.
It's baking Dave.
My dad had an interesting philosophy about Christmas - If you dont have young kits its just a weekend in the middle of the week, unless its at the weekend, in which case its a weekend at the weekend. He was retired at the time so it was a weekend all the time anyway. So this would have been a triple-weekend for him.
I think in a lot of ways the way circumstances have conspired to prevent anyone really having a plan for Christmas this year (or having to make a plan, or having to get their plan to fit other peoples plans, or have their plans made for them whether they like it or not) has improved Christmas quite a bit for a lot of people. Everywhere I've been over the last week or so just seems really relaxed. Normally I feel like the best thing about Christmas Day is its no longer 'nearly Christmas' anymore - come 5pm on Christmas Eve a weight seems to get lifted.
I kind of know what you mean, although finishing work at lunchtime gives the game away as it not being a normal Friday.
Well that and the kids not asleep yet but it's past our bedtime and Santa has yet to appear!
Happy Christmas all, however it goes 🌲
There's good ones and there's not so good ones.
This year is a not so good one for me for a few reasons.
I'll just roll with it.
This Christmas and last have been quite surreal.
I'm not sure I feel very Christmassy either but it's nice to celebrate with family (siblings etc only in my case).
Working this morning - wife is furious but she's bringing me lunch in later and we'll have dinner tonight - it doesn't feel right for some reason and hasn't all December despite seeing the MIL on Tuesday and having Mrs Chaz's daughters to stay a couple of weeks ago. Family is scattered far & wide and we rarely get together in normal times let alone days like these. Still, as they say "things can only get better...."
