Ok so the chances of me stumbling across nearly £3m to spaff on a car but just suppose I did you could keep your AMG One and Valkyrie.
I’d have the T50. Just love Gordon’s approach to engineering and it sounds like he basically went about and just fixed all the things he didn’t like about the F1.
Stuff the numbers and the lap times. Just build the best drivers car ever. If you’ve got a spare hour and like cars this is well worth a watch.
I agree, but...
Bin dun.
Bin dun
Twice.
I’ll watch that at the weekend. First thoughts are christ it looks boring compared to something like a 488 pista, but I love the central driving position and talk of large wheels being unnecessary. £3m not a chance. Just get someone to drive you or a helicopter.

Quite - but when you hear why it looks boring it will look beautiful if that makes sense :).
It would have no chance on our Welsh lanes, a local in a Toyota Yaris would have it for breakfast.
Or buy a decent sport bike. Hell, a 4k Yamaha is more power to weight than you could really ever want or need.
The writing is on the wall for cars like this, so we should embrace it while we can. All be it from afar for the majority of us 🙂
We are seeing the final days of the traditional IC powered supercar. Its an amazing bit of engineering and I for one applaud it.

Except Gordon is has designed this one to be used on actual roads and to actually be driven. He has no interest in 'Ring records or even top speed and 0-60 times. He just wants it to be absolutely the very best drivers car that can be used every day. I think the Welsh bask roads are exactly what he has in mind 🙂
It's going to be a car for the pure enthusiast, not your poser or Instagram luvvie. Give it a decade and the Lamborghini's and Ferrari's will be just another very nice car, this will be revered like the F1, F40 and Muira are. Special cars for the way they drove not just the way they looked.
Watched a bit more this morning, can’t get my head around if I like fan or not. Would love to see one in the flesh. I also watched a shorter video on the new Bugatti, sort of solves the same problem in a different way. Both very drivable, the interior on the Bugatti is something else though. Both in the price bracket of those who don’t need to drive.
Murray is almost as frustrating as Alan Millyard, video on STW YouTube. Also his choice of shirt goes against his design ethos.
Fascinating. Can’t believe 2 old men stood pointing at a stationary car for an hour could be so interesting.
Still rather have a caterham.... Just think how many you could buy and wreck for the same cash as the motor in the op
Well Danny if I was 12 I'd come right back at ye.
BRONWYN FIRE UP THE YARIS.
Damn nearly the same power to wait ratio as my motorbike. As long as it doesn't have a rider anyway.
Yes but how long do you have to wait for the power.

Arse end looks like this...

Yes but how long do you have to wait for the power.
This is part of the point - it's a naturally aspirated V12 so power will be pretty instant. No turbos, no hybrid, just 650BHP of pure NA loveliness.
Clearly Someone hasn't watched the video.(or doesn't understand how engines work.)
The arse end of that needs to be on the "Ouch my eye" thread

You got me
If it were really the "ultimate drivers car" it wouldn't have 650 bhp, it would have 350 bhp. Unfortunately, to pay for the engineering at these volumes it has to cost many millions, and you simply cant' charge £3M for just 300 bhp........
He has no interest in ‘Ring records or even top speed and 0-60 times.
Yep, it will be staggeringly fast, it is suspect they’re being slightly coy on the stats, partly because they are meaningless unless you only care about boasting, but also it might just be a bit slower on paper than some of the existing Hypercars, he might not like DCT, AWD, Hyrbid etc, but they bring massive performance.
But everyone knows hypercars are more for getting into people's pants/heads with their reputation for being the biggest, most powerful, most wild.
Super/sports cars are what the proper Motorhead's are looking for.
There is hardly anything between cars like 911/488 and LaFerrari/918 and and arguably a Tesla can still have them in a straight line. Would be interesting to see the times but it’s designed to be driven not drag raced. Might watch second half of the vid. I’ll tell you all how it drives if my euromils ticket comes in.
Aah, right, so not yet another thread about e-bikes...
Yes but how long do you have to wait for the power.
He, He - Presume joking. Key metric for that NA V12 is that the engine rev gain rate is 28,500revs per second in neutral- with a redline at 11,500rpm it doesn't really matter where the power or torque band is as its not going to take very long to get there, gear dependant obvs. Thats a rev rate 3 times faster than the original F1 - and double that of the Lexus LFA which was exceptional for that sort of thing.
Look mint with a nomad seasuckerd on the roof....
It's an exceptional peice of engineering. Not just auto I mean across all fields
OK all the "wait for the power" comments- pretty sure twinw4ll's post that's getting the mick taken out of it, was just him poking fun at my "power to wait" type.
Why couldn't they just have just made the fan to look like a dan dare rocket? Looks like my bathroom extractor.
Now he's got the T50 out of his system it would be nice to see what he could do with a BEV
Aah, right, so not yet another thread about e-bikes…
Less than 1,000kg was the clue.
Now he’s got the T50 out of his system it would be nice to see what he could do with a BEV
The T27 is err... very different tot he T50. Although he has still engineered it to be fit for purpose:

A Bev doesn’t fit with the ethos of light weight so even the great Gordon murrray can’t fight the laws of physics. He has to work within them. But for a car of this nature it is a ridiculous notion. Cars like this do so few miles each year they are contributing sweet fA to environmental problems so why would you even consider a bev for a vehicle like this? These cars will be snapped up, shrink wrapped and locked in a bank vault somewhere as an investment. A great shame really, but that’s what’ll happen. Expensive paperweights.

Yep, with maybe a few driven by those with so much money they don't care. The F1 has definitely been a great investment but it is now 26 years later so a fairly long term investment whereas a lot of the other hypercars have not turned out such great investments.
