[Closed] IT Persons: Outlook Calendar Issue

My boss's secretary looks after all his appointments, but recently deleted appointments have been reappearing in his calendar, causing much frustration.

I did wonder if it was because a number of people had "editor" rights to his calendar, so I've removed all except for his secretary. It's too soon to see if that has solved the issue, but we will see.

The other potential cause is that he also uses a Macbook Air, that he takes with him when out of the office (uses a standard lappy when in the office). He uses Outlook for Macs on this to pick up e-mails and view his calendar etc. Could this also be causing the problem if it was synced?

Any other thoughts?

Any mobile devices involved?

IME as soon as you connect some Apple devices to exchange it starts going mad. My bosses calendar is insane, it's always repeating itself and lying about stuff and we've nailed it down to his use of multiple apple devices. Will he stop doing it though? Nope. So I get 14 invites to his appointment with a hernia specialist.

Hahaha sounds about right. He accesses his calendar via his Macbook and his Blackberry, either of which (or both) could be causing the problem. I'm not sure how to solve it though, short of stopping his mobile devices from syncing.

Does sound sync related, short of finding an option to restrict it to one-way sync though I'm not sure what you can do

finding an option to restrict it to one-way sync

That was really what I was hoping for, if it is possible. So far my searches have turned up nothing.

Is the time and date on all these things set correctly?

Just to check, what is the version of exchange and is he using exchange sync or some other random way of connecting?

I've seen issues like this when the company is running an old version of exchange and people start setting up weird sync software to get it to work with their mac.
