There was an item on Breakfast this morning about the benefits of eating with spoons made from different materials. Copper, gold etc - a bit weird, but quite interesting.

Oooh, I've heard that carbon ones might snap - particularly them Chinese knock-off ones. Ti ftw.

I am supporting my local spoon shop, even though they will log onto cutlery world and slate my usage of cutlery.

One box short here. Kids think they're choosing one, how wrong they are!

Nope. Some spoons are shite in design but some are very nice.

It is not easy to select the right ones to be honest.

You can go to the £1 shop to get the cheapest yet functional but if you intend to use it as defensive weapon they fail big time.

Good set of cutlery means the stainless steel metal is so strong they don't bend and you can stab someone like you stab your pork chop.

Test the fork first cos this is one that is usually the weakest and if it still strong enough then the rest should be good.

Spoon should not be too long ...

Dartington Cutlery sets are good and you can buy them at TK Maxx for good price.

I'm obsessed with spoons. Especially large deep ones. I have a ladle-vice.
