Knowing there are a few IT contractors on here... is anyone able to recommend a decent mortgage broker that understands/specialises in dealing with IT contractors?

Google says there are plenty. I'd prefer recommendation. Bristol based but happy to deal over phone.

Thanks all.

We used Franklin Summers in late 2015, got us sorted despite having lived out of the country for a few years so we had only a few years credit/address history.

I've used Nicola Trott at Cobens in the past, all over the phone, very impressed. PM for contact details.

Same folk, similar timeframe, similar experience 🙂

Have a look on contractoruk.com for up to date recommendations.

Really good, helped me get a buy to let without owning a house that I actually lived in. Just over 2 years ago.

I would suggest that you might be able to do it without a broker and save yourself some cash. It's not hard but you need to know which providers offer to contractors. NatWest have been great for me and I never thought I would say anything good about them.

I recently went with NatWest for no upfront fee when the two or three 'specialists' I spoke to all wanted at least £1k upfront before doing anything.
Down side is that I may have been able to get more than NatWest would lend but as I didn't particularly need any more, it's a moot point
