So,
Hi,
My elite zumo has been working fine up until today, I went to do a session at lunch as there was no resistance change, just spinning along with no difference in up or downhill.
So I thought I’d do a spin down calibration on my trainer using the elite app.
I did the spin down calibration and got a result, that says its successful. The reading / value is 19052 and 19042 when repeated, whatever that means??
Go back to Zwift and the resistance is huge for the given wattage on the screen. I really can’t figure out what is happening.
Did you get a solution?
I purchased an Elite Zumo at the weekend, set it up and found that the resistance is set to max and does not vary.
I have a power meter on teh bike and I have tried it both with and wothout the "Power Meter Link" feature. In Zwift (and with a Garmin) I can see that the Zumo and the Quarq are reporting similar power readings. Riding on the flat in my lowest gear requires about 400w - for a cadence of 45rpm...
I tried a spin down calibration, the reading value was about 3067 - again I have no idea what that means. The software supplied and the instructions are not very good and I am always suspicious of any electronics/software which requires a reboot when any configuration parameters are changed.
Any suggestions as to what is wrong would be greatly appreciated. If I can't solve this later I will be returing it for a refund.

Have you tried using it with an App which controls it? As far as I can tell, smart turbos, don't have a manual over ride. There should be details of their free-ish app 'My E Training' in the box, that has a basic ramp test you can run which will show you that it can control the resistance. You really need to try it with an App which controls it eg Zwift, Sufferfest, TrainerRoad etc

Yup took it back and swapped it, apparently the spindown results in a reverse calibration where you get massive resistance at low settings.
Does that mean that the "spin down" calibration simply breaks the trainer? I emailed Elite and got an automated response that they will try to respond with 48 hours as they are very busy dealing with other requests.... Sounds worrying.
As for apps I have tried it with Zwift which should control the resistance. I dont fancy using the MyETraining app for workouts especially as it requires a pay subscription.

The ramp test etc is free, which is all you need to use to convince yourself the power control is working. IIRC it starts at 100W and just increases slowly until you can't keep going...
