We are thinking of going to IoW this summer, does anybody have any views, good or bad, on the campsites. We have a 5yo and a 3yo, all with bikes. Thanks.

Try ukcampsite.co.uk

It's about the best resource I've found.

Hello,
Last year we used the Red Funnel Deal.Selection of campsites, five nights with EH including the ferry £109!
We stayed at the Appuldurcombe Gardens site. Lots of kids there, with things for them to do.(You have to lifeguard your own kids in the pool and it has no shallow end).
Cycle trails run past the campsite.
We will go back to the same site this year.

I've stayed at Lower Hyde, Shanklin four or five times. Very nicely placed for getting out on the bike, supermarkets are close, and about 10 mins walk from the beach.

Would that be America Woods way, or over by the airfield and up to the woods ? Love the area, could quite happily re-locate to IOW tomorrow.

it's a few years ago but we stopped at Grange Farm in Brighstone , not much in the way of facilties but close to the beach and countryside (may have changed since we were there though)

Compton Farm. Can't comment on the campsite but the location is superb. That beach is my bestest favourite place in the world. Can't beat an evening fire cooking freshly caught mackeral while watching the sun go down.
