You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I was out with brother today... first day out since the accident... because I wanted to look at the scene where it all happened.
In any case, as we were driving around, her stopped so I could take some pictures of the beautiful landscape, when this mountain biker came riding up a road.
Is it you? Nice guy in any case. And a tenacious climber!
It's not me,but that's Stoodley Pike in the background.Where did you have your crash?
glad you are up and about SR.
not me either. ;o)
It looks likes they're on the way to a Village People tribute act night out.
Not guilty, we were walking in N. Wales this weekend
Great photo SR!

Where did you have your crash?

At this precise point on one of the hairpins as you descend from Badger Lane to Rawtenstall Bank and then to Glen View.
Yep it looks a difficult corner at speeed, especially wet and with leaves and the usual grime ..
glad to see you stood in the picture..
How is it revisiting? And how are you healing?
It was weird going back. I can’t believe I had tried to ride the whole stretch of road at any speed at all, as going back in the car, it is like navigating a spaghetti noodle. The pics have no way of showing just how twisty, narrow, and pitched that whole descent actually is!
We could see the exact spot on the rocks that I made impact, due to the cleared moss and broken twigs, but it didn’t make the same immediate impression on me as seeing my broken helmet. It was more going back over the whole road and seeing what I had ridden and just how dangerous it was that struck me most. It was also a phobia-buster, insofar as I have been really nervous about going outside, but driving with my brother was a bit like being thrown in the deep end!
At this stage, I am coming along, and getting fatter by the second. The pain I feel is now far more localised as opposed to general and all-encompassing. I would love just to go home now, but at least I’m safe and sound and alive, so all-in-all I’m doing well.
Thanks for asking.
SR,that's a climb not a descent 😉 Could have been worse, you could have met this coming up!

Just pleased to see you?
I grew up in Blackshaw and know that hill far too well. You crashed on what was colloquially known as Mytholm Steeps and it's well named!
Not a hill for a speedy descent with limited sight-lines and rubbish tarmac.
Heal well SR, great to see you stood up and outside
Drove down there yesterday. Not been down it on the cross bike for years… scared myself too much the first time that I did.
Well, that's a rather dangerous place to stand for a photo. You could have been hit by an out-of-control cyclist!
We saw that bus stuck up there yesterday!
Thanks for posting that picture! I saw it I must have seen that bus after it had been parked. There should be some kind of warning before that stretch of road!
