He won in 3.32, so I'm guessing not 🙂

i think not.

winning time of 3:32

starts ~3seconds in, finishes ~3:36, which makes 3:33 so close enough for my guessing.

Something spooked him in the woods at around 1:15 and that was getting away speed from the monster in the dark.

Was he on a KTM 450?

That was scary quick

Not speeded up, he can just ride a bike very, very fast.

It's all in the technique; keep your head perfectly still and let the bike move around and do all the work. Simples.

That's just funny really isn't it.

How? Just how!

It's "a lot" steeper than it looks, and don't forget that these guys are used to pinning it, wasn't Rachel clocked at nearly 50mph at Mont St Anne?

Does look mental though, Gee's run looks equally speeded up

From around 2:40 to after the road gap looks really really tough

I'd get off the bike and batter the annoying people with whistles..then resume the ride. What the actual why do people use whistles

When it looks fast and steep on a GoPro you know it's bonkers.

Seems strange that there were so few people on the hill trackside.

The wider field of vision through the camera (110 maybe vs 90 ) makes it look quicker right? If it follows gaming logic 😉

The whistles are the marshals. It's to indicate to the next marshal that a rider has safely past them. Or something like that.

Swedish matt I think the whistles are from Marshalls to warn people further down the track a rider is coming. Or at least that's what they used to do

That's amazing and gives a much better indication of how tough the course was - I thought the RB coverage was a bit disappointing and made it look a bit more slopestyle-leaning due to concentrating on the big features.

I love the way you can see his arms taking a battering through the vents in his visor

After the first jump I would be off, my bike in bits and air ambulance on the way.

If you couldn't see the front wheel, cut the sound, then asked people what vehicle was being used I bet you'd get some interesting answers.

A drone would probably be high up the list. Short of that I doubt any vehicle could do that quicker.

Christ on a bi... oh.

There's chunks of that which look hella fun, and chunks which make me go "wait, what, why, no, how?!" Hell of a ride.

What percentage of riders do you think could ride even 50% of that? There seem to be lots of places where you need to be really going some to clear the next jump but the run in is massively technical - just looks to be a recipe for lots of pain for most mortals?

Tallie I think only a handful of riders in world could ride that course.

I'm nor even sure most of us could ride 5% of it, let alone 50%

Watching the DH World Cup the other week, as you come out of the gate you've got the drop... i rekon 90% of us have already crashed/stopped by the first drop 🙂

I recon a this guy on this vehicle would be quicker.
The track looks open enough for Jonny to gain the advantage with the power on tap.

I heard one commentary that suggested you needed to be doing at least 40 to clear the metal jump I think the fastest I've ever been on a mountain bike was about that on road descent once and it felt bloody fast, let alone on a hill aiming for a 5 ft wide vertical take off

Love the bit when he goes in the first set of woods and goes "oh shit" as everything goes black. Mental.

Sections you kind of think 'yeah, i could sort of keep that flow, if that was in my back yard and i'd ridden it every day for the last year'

Hats off for ridding that well from just a couple of weekends practise, if that.
