Our oven and grill need cleaning.
Could I put all the trays, shelves and grill pan type things in the dishwasher, on a high heat?
To have to hand wash fills me with dread.

Thanks.

We put ours in. Doesn't get them totally clean if its crusted on but not too bad

we do.

Neither oven, nor dishwasher are dead yet.

As above though, might be worth a good soak of everything in oven cleaner (and rinse) beforehand as the dishwasher can;t perform miracles even on a hot wash.

Aye, go for it.

For a deep clean, we get a man in, 50 quid a time, twice a year, oven and all the shelves, grill pan etc, looks good as new.

If they have not been done for a while it probably won't make a dent in the baked on grime

The oven brite cleaning bags really do make it easy and return them to as new.

Fyi the steam cleaner and a light scrub makes cleaning the inside a breeze

I'd concur IHN, but the Mrs insists, and she pays for it, so I'm not that fussed....

I used those kits a few times, but The stuff in the bottle is burny bastard stuff, it's a horrible job, and how are you actually meant to dispose of it?...

Instructions say down the sink

It's an alkali so if you were feeling particularly paranoid I guess you could neutralise with some vinegar

OvenPride. Comes with a bag - stick it all in and leave for a bit - rinse. Easy.

My man never comes, that's why I'm doing the job myself 😉

Brillo pads (or stainless steel equivalent) work well on grills. Also work on grill pans but if you're paranoid use ceramic hob cleaner. Paint scraper sorts glass doors.

The more frequently you do it the easier - it's a pain once its been burnt on.

Dishwasher's fine for a routine clean but won't shift it all.

That's what we do. Much easier than messing about with a spray cleaner, and a better job than scrubbing it by hand. I leave the full bag outside just in case of a leak (it never has, but you never know).

Pffft costic soda when my girlfriend insists the grill pan is going in the bin.

In sandals and bare hands obviously.
