It is one of those sort of crimes where you think 'parading them in public to have rotten fruit thrown at them' would be an appropriate punishment and deterrent for them and others not to do it again.

But we're better than that so they get community service or jail

I don't understand how they could sell the wreaths on. Who the hell buys cheap wreaths with "NAN" or "DAD" down the pub ?

Don't people go to proper bonafide florists when they want a wreath for dearly beloved Nan's funeral?

But how the **** do you sell a wreath with the world "NAN" ? Pop down the pub and ask if anyone has lost their nan recently because you might something which will interest them ?

I suppose people could bump off their old Nan so not to miss out on a bargain.

They probably steal em to order, someone asks for a 'nan' one or whatever, and then they go out and nick one..
They've probably got adverts in shop windows for 'local florist' as well..

You could sell the same one multiple times if you got busy with it..

Somebody nicked the earn of my auntioes grave, solid marble, but it got returned a few months later, obviously they couldnt sell it or guilt struck.

Ny mum and dads grave has had the flower pot knicked a few times, solid aluminium with a lead insert to hold it down, when i went to get replacements, the florist said she had had a rush on them and was awaiting stock.
