F1 driver?

Probably not, but some who think they should be.

Who was the BMW boy (Mike?) who flounced a few years ago? Reconned he was the dogs danglies when it came to driving stuff...

<edit> you know when you think of something, can't recall then stop thinking about it and it comes to you? Surfmat... As Clive Anderson might say: Les Tosseurs...

<edit2>

In which case, this place is full of tyre pedants

Not to be confused with: full of people tired of pedants... 🙃

F1 driver?

Saw Mark Webber at Mountain mayhem back in the day.

I stood chatting next to him in the handover pit, I didn't have a clue who he was till my mate came in and said that was Mark Webber. I've never been any good with faces or names.

I did see Guy Martin in the Gateshead branch of Evans once.

I’m featuring (probably briefly) in a show for Netflix this Thursday, that is we are filming on Thursday not broadcasting.

Never made it anywhere near RN submarine skipper, but my first Captain was an heir to the Gordon’s gin empire so was the story onboard anyway, lovely guy who made fishing flies whilst we were at sea. Also a mate once rang the Capt ( who was a commander) and referred to him as skipper and was given the reply ‘this is a ****ing submarine not a fishing vessel’

Mark Webber used to been seen occasionally at Woburn as it's a stones throw from Redbull HQ. I saw him once... Well the back of him as he flashed past me up a hill. Only realised it was him when I saw him talking to a load of bikers at the carpark afterwards.

Is there anyone who works in IT?

I see no one's owned up to this. I must be the only one.

Any taxi drivers here? I have some questions re. driving habits. Although maybe better posted in the disproportionate anger thread...

Vicar?

Pretty sure there’s a church leader on here, though I forget the actual religion.

We do indeed.  quite a senior chap as well I think.

A (fiction) novelist or a poet? And self publishing on amazon don't count!

From the limited number of photos people are brave enough to post, I'm pretty sure there are no models either!

Not an assassin (unless you are a sheep), but definitely a shepherd for the past 23 years.

We do have a member who holds a car racing licence.

I like all the regular doctors and scientists on here who have been so helpful over the years. My favourite being: Dr. Daren Austin OBE

Am I the only 'soft furnisher' ?

When I worked with sheep,  I definitely had the urge to assassinate the .,,,,.s, but then again sheep really don't need a lot of help when it comes to leaving the Mortal Coil.

F1 driver?

Probably not, but some who think they should be.

We had SmurfMat who IIRC claimed he taught Lewis Hamilton all he knew and was banned from racing F1 for being too good.

Unsurprisingly he got more and more upset no one would believe him and finally flounced.

Who was the BMW boy (Mike?) who flounced a few years ago? Reconned he was the dogs danglies when it came to driving stuff…

Yep, same guy. Probably also designed the BMW engine and suspension single handeldly.

I've worked as a shepard as a 'break' from being a geologist.  Sadly not a volcanologist.

I used to go running in a group that occasionally included MP's. Never a PM tho'.

I've also been out climbing with a part time adult actress.

To be fair to @bunnyhop, I did fail the chicken sexing exam. 🤣. And definitely not a model. Not even a hand model for a medical text book.

To be fair, you're unlikely to be a hand model if you can't tell a hen from a cock.

In a previous life I was a driver/security for a number of female adult entertainers. <br /><br />

It was deeply unglamorous and mostly involved working men's clubs in the Welsh valleys

And I don’t think I’ve seen a Chicken Sexer

I’m going to regret this……

In my youth I worked at the local Turkey farm. In addition to eggs & feeding, we also had to “milk” the male turkeys & inseminate the females with it. 🙈

In the days of Jamie Oliver’s School dinner crusade I was known as The Turkey Twizzler!

I remember Mike Edwards was guest DJ at the Drum Club one week in the early 1990s, played a pretty decent set of lighter acid techno IIRC.

But his real claim to fame is having Info Freako featured in the greatest MTB movie of all time (Earthed 5).

Any chance we have an NBA legend as a member?

And I don’t think I’ve seen a Chicken Sexer.

I dated a woman who worked at one of the larger chicken processing plants in the south Midlands, she could tell the sex of a chicken.

Any horse willy washers here?

OH was a stable maid briefly. I don't recall her mentioning willy washing but she did mention applying vaseline to stallions' cocks.

We have 2 geologists that turned to shepherds?

What are the odds of that!

Is there a connection between sheep and rocks? Apart from brainpower?

Not quite serial killer, and I'm sure how much he was on here but he was certainly a MTBer, definitely "friends of forum regulars" guy who killed his wife about 5 years ago and is currently doing 20 years for it.

As a professional pedant, I feel I should point out that serial killing is more of a hobby than a profession.

Notoriously difficult to monetise.

I'd have thought you could probably say the same about pedantry, but defer to chakaping's professed expertise on the matter. How well does it pay?

Well my branch of professional pedantry is journalism / content writing & editing, so it doesn't pay too great.

And people who don't really understand your job are trying to replace you with AI.
