The movie PSA I posted earlier, Duel, got me thinking. It could easily have been inspired by an STW thread! 😉

Which thread/s would you like to see made into a film?

I suspect there are a lots of candidates!

That or some farce caper where a couple of lads reckon they can beat the bike industry at its own game, making stuff better, cheaper, against all odds, despite all the naysayers, they sail off into the sunset as bike industry millionaires

Hollywood ending would be somewhat different from reality, obvs.

Clearing that past the film crew would be an ecumenical matter, and another 18 rating

Whatever it is, the main character should be based on world-class accident, and played by Nicholas Cage 😀

A biopic of surfmatt?

Or a B movie about how the trails really do come alive having been ridden on by 650b wheels, with horrific consequences

Some STW big hitters from the political threads are asked to take part in a live broadcast on election night.

The filming location is at a remote highland castle, all travel and expenses are paid for(plus a FREE BAR) ,and they are asked to arrive on the Wednesday.

I am thinking a mix of, Knives Out,Battle Royale with a touch of Traitors.

^^ Add some Dog Soldiers into that mix too, together with the Hunger Games as there are no Greggs nearby for @binners.

I predict cannibalism by day two 😁

Trailer Park Boys already covered it, but I figure Kevin Smith could expand it into a slacker movie.

Any movie based on STW threads will start off being about a couple of guys buying a used car with the plan to restore it, will half way through inexplicably turn into a existential drama about the privilege of being a white man able to afford the current cost of living crisis, and will end up as a political drama about the dangers of fascism and the rise of populism. It will end without concluding the plot but with an undercurrent of barely concealed seething resentment.

The car will not be restored

I wish this thread had links - I'm intrigued by millionaire kickboxers.

I'd like to see a movie about badger(?) spraying sealant everywhere, then threatening to sue everyone who laughed at him.

I'd go to see Ken Loache's take on 'Watches N+1' as a bit of social commentary, it could be a trilogy along with 'which Gagia should I buy' and 'wood burners?'

In my mind the Picolax thread only really works as a Jason Statham film where a man (Statham) having been somehow duped into taking the stuff by the russian mafia, has several 15 minute, single take martial arts sequences each one ending with him needing a break for explosive diarrhea. The locations he has to shit becoming increasingly precarious.

They weren't kickboxers, they were black belt Taekwondo blokes.

They worked in the Edinburgh finance markets and could knack any of the MMA fighters but didn't bother because their day jobs paid better.

They also regularly injured their friends, broken jaws and the like.

Sorry, but I still want a ****ing mojito - so that won't work.

Maybe a mash-up with Poopy's story to make RoboCocktail?

But I think Kimbers has nailed it though: Owned With Bombers works for me.

Anyone suggesting the Picolax thread... you didn't really think about that, did you?

I am a little worried about how many times my name has come up as 'movie potential' when you then lookj at the viewing figures for my amazing "Are you bored enough to watch..." film series.

I also feel thi si a little close for comfort right now, but I WILL FINISH MY CAR PROJECT
