so whilst bivvying the other night, I had the joy of waking up with a slug on my forehead.

awesome.

I used to have acne fairly bad, but haven't had any major spots for a couple of years. by the end of the day I had 3 of the biggest spots I've had for years in just the place where the slug was. My skin was kinda swollen between the spots too.

I've not died yet, thank god.

So, do slugs give you spots?

The slug on your forehead didn't cause the spots.

The spots were caused by the 3 or 4 slugs that will have slithered into your mouth and down into your stomach while you were asleep.

Dip your face in honey (natural antibiotic) then dunk your head into a bucket of salt (will destroy the slug train tonight).

Apparently if you harvested slug slime, you could lubricate engines indefinitely, no more costly oil changes!

It's the ones that slipped into your ears, that you want to worry about

Maybe not the vets but Lungworm Disease/Angiostrongyliasis can be contracted by human with the main source being snaiuls or slugs.

Whatever you do, dont ask NHS Direct - they don't know it exists.

I know for dogs it starts with coughing and breathlessness then onto vomiting but no idea with humans.

It's highly unlikely unless you ingested any of it.

Did you dream you were eating oysters?

I dreamt I was eating a spider once. Then I woke up and it turned out I was eating a spider 🙁

So when I pick snails off of plants and walls to give them a good stomping gloves would be good?
Also I have a large bit of wood that I rain down with fury upon slugs at night. Sometimes they splatter up my leg. Assuming this is not good either?

You 'stomp' them? I've always found a tennis racket more fun 🙂

My son used to pick the snails out of their shells in the garden and eat them when he was a toddler.
He seems ok healthwise.

In my mind, it was going to take very little to tip me over the edge and cancel going to SITS after the current reports of waterlogged fields to camp in, and this:

hungry monkey - Member
so whilst bivvying the other night, I had the joy of waking up with a slug on my forehead.

... has done the job. :-/
