I have an old nexus 5 that was replaced by my insurance company following water damage to my original N5. The original phone was supplied by 3, but the new one was supplied via my bank account insurance. Will this new phone be locked into 3? I'm guessing not, but is there an easy way to find out?
Cheers
Easy way is to get a free sim from a phone shop and see if it works.
Put a different sim card in it.
Most insurance supplied phones are sim free. Unless the box is branded by the sim operator.
Put in a non-3 sim.
I don't think I have one, easy enough to pop in at tescos though!
Cheers
I don't think the Nexus phones were lockable anyway. The point was that they run native android with update straight from Google without carrier getting in the way. My nexus 2 wasn't locked to Orange.
