Can anyone help ?
I have a Panasonic Bridge Camera FZ 7 which takes great pictures and videos (also have a compact Panasonic ) the video capture is great but only takes 15 mins at a time.
Is it worth buying one of these Flip style pocket cameras ? Quality wise will it be worse ?
Or does anyone know of how to get the video to last longer than 15 mins ? Even with a 1,2,4,8 or 16gb card it does this so its not because of lack of space on the card! Tried changing the quality of the video it still stays at 15 mins recording time.
Many thanks in advance
It's the norm on cameras.
Are you sure you need more than 15 minute clips though?
Watch a movie and see how many 15 minute scenes there are without a camera change. Anything more than 10 seconds is too tedious to watch.
I just bought a normal type HD video camera, cos it was super cheap ex-display bits missing etc. It's alright. My compact camera doesn't take videos, if it did.. well I dunno. They say that camcorders use AVHCD video format and compact cameras use something else for videos, which makes camcorders better but I am not sure. Some compacts use AVHCD, and the results from my video camera are ok, but not spectacular. Although it is a cheap one. There are a few nice things about the fact that it's a dedicated thing. AF works nicely, it's good to hold when filming, the screen flips round so you can film yourself, it has a continuous white light on the front, you can fit stereo mics, that kind of thing.
