i hear the choice is far better over the pond, and you can change DNS settings or somethings to access it. done a bit of googling and found this site that implies i could just swap the relevant numbers over on my samsung bluray player.

question is..... how likely am i to be successful? is it easypeasy, or are UK netflix likely to flag up that bad boy sadexpunk from UK is suddenly 'in america', then back in UK next day, america again later etc etc...
will my account be blocked? will my bluray explode in a puff of smoke? will i die?

thanks for any advice, just fancy seeing what different films are available.

You can use the hola plugin to access netflix US if you have a UK account. Just google 'hola plugin chrome' and you see what it does.

I watch through Apple TV, and pay a few quid a month to Unblock US. Works well, much more variety in content.

In the time it took to post the question, you could've tried it and found out...?! (-:

I'm pretty sure that Netflix don't really care; the region restrictions are imposed on them. Besides, you could be a travelling businessman.

havent tried it yet as no need to, havent finished watching 'the shield' boxset yet, but just read this.

it seems netflix are now blocking accounts that try and bypass the vpn trick. anyone got any experience of this happening yet?

TunnelBear works for me. There is a free version limited to 500mb a month or a paid for version. I can be in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan or most countries in Europe.

If you want to just use a mobile device then 'hola' is great.

If you want to use on chromecast or similar then I would recommend 'unlocator'

Costs about £3 per month but works great once you have set your router up. As it changes DNS settings you don't need to use hola (whilst connected to your wifi)

I use either hola through firefox or an apple TV with the DNS setting changed. Both methods were working fine over the weekend.
