Sounds like your circa £30ish a month on the gym would be better spent on bike treats and warmer clothes.

I recently got some of these (£30 at go outdoors). Loving the warm knees in evening 🙂

Lovely run this morning. Slight nip in the air, but this is a great time of year IMO. Riding two days ago the same apart from the slippy roots and leaves!!

now that the clocks have gone back, it's time for the Friday night, off-road, head-torch runs, press-ups in a freezing bog only adding to the fun!

Torrential cold rain in NW Lakes.
Just back from an hour with dogs and going out on bike soon.
Grow some and get out there.

Base layers my friend. I also find it takes a few weeks to acclimatise.

Riding this morning I was sweating by the time I got in. Think I ended up doubling back enough to do 9 miles.

Cold, pah, bloody lovely morning.

CFH - that might be my favourite reply to a post EVER!

it was lovely this morning - commute from Kingston to Central London taking in Richmond Park and Hyde park - glorious. 😀

Been peeing about on the internet since 10am, cannot quite seem to find the will to get ready to go out...
If I don't within the next half hour I'm beaten!

night ride last night was about 7C (was 14C a week ago), wore heavier weight gloves and outer shell, 10 minutes in boil-in-a-bag syndrome kicked in. Think I was being pessimistic!

Indeed.

But that clothing varies massively from person to person.

I've been working outside all day wearing a sweatshirt with a teeshirt underneath and shorts.

Slightly chilly but nothing drastic.

I freewheeled down an icy Col d'Aubisque this morning without suffering too much thanks to a Rab down jacket.
