According to a local source* I have been seen doing this (which I often do).
So just wondered if it is illegal or not!?
(*a friendly local!)
i don't think its not unillegal
don't know about illegal but it's antisocial 🙂
It will only annoy tramps and they don't count so carry on.
nah, it's fine IMO
Anyway, if it is illegal, you can write in to Ant & Dec & they'll abolish daft laws like this
I heard one of them on the news only this lunchtime saying that
I [obviously] don't which one it was
don't know about illegal but it's antisocial
I could always leave it on the floor!
Bagged? Probably ok I reckon if it is.
Sounds odd, what else are you meant to do with it?
I suggest you use the do-gooder's own bin
[s]Surely this friendly local has a letterbox?[/s] Sounds like model behaviour to me.
Yep, bagged.
Sounds like the local 'nowt better to do' brigade looking for trouble.
Well surly its better than leaving it hanging from a tree 😡
Sounds odd, what else are you meant to do with it?
I'm surprised no-one on here has told you to take it home yet.
I used a normal litter bin, just the once, cos there was nowhere else. (for my dog's poo, I mean)
most of the public rubbish bins round here have a poster on them saying that they're for dog poo and litter.
Scratch my reply.
No its not illegal to put dog poop in ANY bin.
i worked the bins for a summer after traveling and being the greenhorn of the crew had to do the shit bins! all the bins, shitty or otherwise, end up in the dust cart and in the landfill. flipping hell on those hot summers days emptying the full ones that had been cooking all week...id then be sprayed with old cans of impulse salvaged from bins when getting in the cab. id come home stinking. tbh glass and needles are worse. i still sort the bin men out every christmas as they get paid fek all to load our shit for 10hrs a day.
Yes, it's definitely okay to use a 'mixed bin'
In fact, many local authorities have removed the special Doggy Bins, because the contents have to be treated as 'Hazardous Waste', with all the resulting Health & Safety implications
When out with your dog you should always be prepared to clean up if your dog defecates. Dog waste bags are easily carried and readily available from most pet stores and vets. Plastic carrier bags can be re-used for the same purpose. Dog waste wrapped in this way can be disposed of in any ordinary litter bin or red dog waste bin. If no litter bins are available the waste should be taken home and placed with normal household waste.
Mmm, ok, well this thread kind of puts my mind at rest as I've been putting the dogs poop (bagged) from the garden in the general waste bin for as long as we've had him and have always thought I was doing a "naughty" thing! Of course, what else are you supposed to do?
Thanks peeps.
Of course, what else are you supposed to do?
Well, I believe you can get a wormery that is able to break down dog poo and produce compost and liquid fertiliser...
In fact I really should look into the idea for ours...
Bag it and hang it on nearest tree or signpost.
I don't like it when people use my bin for it during collections and wheeling my bin back with a stink.
I'd rather they use any bin than some kid falling on it and going blind.
