Just sitting in some friends garden in Portree in Skye facing West , I noticed a single thin vapour trail moving on up from the horizon a damn sight faster than planes generally go. It was climbing bloody fast & the trail faded as it got up to about the cloud/sun level.
Sorry my phone camera struggled to pick it out , its on the left of the sun & the trail is more pronounced lower down. I'm guessing it wasn't launched on the island 🙂

There's a 13 ship Naval air and ballistic missile defence exercise going on around that way at the moment.

This could be linked with the huge Police and MOD convoy we passed on the M80 heading north near Stirling last Thursday afternoon - numerous Police cars, then several armoured vans in between about ten long green artics on MOD plates with canvas covers roped over the load, my guess was that the artics were carrying missiles. Where would they have been heading?
