Is IKEA delivery still terrible?

Not sure I can face the 75 mile round trip to IKEA and thinking of having the items delivered, but historically IKEA delivery services have been appalling (I remember weeks and weeks of delays just a few years ago). Anyone ordered recently and able to report how it went?

It's a lot quicker now, used to take weeks.

I ordered some picture frames and they arrived in about 5 working days.

Had a couple of sizeable deliveries this year and managed to book both within a week away. That’s delivering from Glasgow to Inverness so I would imagine you can get same or better service where you are

Yep, big Pax wardrobe for daughter's room in January. A week between order and delivery, although I think I chose a convenient day rather than the first available. Two guys, took all the bits up the stairs into the room in no time.

No problem getting small stuff delivered to the local DPD pickup point (Argos inside a Sainsbury's)

We ordered some stuff on Friday. It classes as a medium delivery according to IKEA.
It's being delivered via DPD this afternoon. Half price delivery at the moment too so only £7.50 which is less than it would cost in fuel for me

Sort of. It's quicker... but. I had bits missing, took a while to get through to the helpline who took loads of info, then said system was down and ring back tomorrow 😒
Same story the next day.
Finally sorted it, still took a week for the part to come. Never got a word of apology either.
Given how shit it was, I think I'd rather drive the 90mins round trip. And that's saying something.

For some reason, they won't deliver the outdoor table I want to me.
So it sounds like I have to go to Croyden 🙁

Had a couple of big items delivered recently with no issues. Same last year.

One was parcelforce, one was man in a white van. White van man had full real time tracking so you could see where he was and when he’d be there. Carried it all into the room I wanted.

That’s not quite Croydon, but the true horror is inside - abandon hope all who enter IKEA Purley Road
