Because I've bought some to spray on a t-shirt to make a Thor costume for one of the kids, and now he's asking if he's going to die because of it. So I thought I'd ask the experts.
Is he going to eat it or wear it?
I'd have gone for acrylics myself. But I am sure he'll be ok.....
IANAD, IANAL, IANAP, IANR
Only when absorbed through the skin
Does he worry about going anywhere in your car? Which is covered in paint (unless of course you have one of those fancy raw aluminium cars).
Of greater issue is that the paint will probably crack and peel when he puts the t-shirt on.

He's a small boy, could do anything.

Having left it to the night before, I have a choice of the motor parts shop or Morrison's.

Are we 100% the OP will be applying/sealing the paint in the same way a car manufacturer does?

White sheet. Cut 2 holes. Bosh.
the fumes will be hazardous given it has thinners and other VOC's in it but more risk for the person spraying than the wearer IMHO
Once dry I assume its only not very good for you rather than hazardous and then probably only if you eat it- it snot like anyone died because their car was once sprayed

He's obsessed with poisoning. He wouldn't eat a sandwich the other day because he'd picked it up with the same hand he'd just had a crayon in, without washing them inbetween. Obviously he gets told to BoyTFU, but I thought on this occasion he might have a point.

And then tell him Thor is dead and he's his ghost, I like it.
Give him a lump hammer, and he's good to go.
He's already been practicing with that. Throws it well, but it doesn't always come back properly.
😀

Pretty good chance that's what it is, these days.
Best for him to not be wearing it while it's being sprayed.
Inhaling the actual spray isn’t recommended, at least in quantity, but the amount involved here is negligible, but spraying outside is best.

Ah, is he at school or nursery? Our daughter had a big phase of “oh my god I’m going to die because I got... some pen, nail varnish, mud, on my skin, or chewed a crayon, or didn’t wash something etc”. We can only assume it was a well intentioned school teacher’s attempt at instilling some disciple/hygiene in the manky little things but she totally over reacted...
Talking to someone with children at a different school recently and they have had a similar issue but their child seems to have develop some real issues over it...
My daughter got that after watching an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba with “We are the tiny germs that will make you sick”.
Every mealtime for the next zillion years was quite a stressful thing.
The germphobic one is 7, I think it must have been the same thing, something at school about hygiene taken to extremes, as children are prone to do!
Everything sprayed, outside, by me, so nothing left for the children to inhale. I've got nice silver fingers though.
