I need to travel to NL later this week from Stansted, a PCR test is required 24 hours before travel. Online info suggests a result will be received within 3 hours which would be fine if I can use that to time check in and going through security etc. What isn't clear is if I'd even be able to check in prior to receiving my test results? If I can't then I will have to get to the airport at least three hours before checking in to sort testing.
I'm hoping someone has had this situation and knows what will be required. My other option is to get a drive through test at Stansted the evening before but will obviously mean an additional round trip to the airport which I'd rather avoid.
We've just had to show negative results at check in to return from malaga to Manchester. They then put a coloured dot on the back of your passport so your documentation didn't need to be checked again.
The dot seemed to imply that there's a possibility you could show documentation later but I wouldn't like to say for definite. Best to speak to the airline on their policy.
From what I’ve just experienced- you’ll need the test at check in
NB that some airlines won't accept an NHS test (I think at the direction of the government).
Probably before, during and after, and any change gets you carted away in a hermetically sealed steel box.
They will not let you check in without a valid test.
Thanks, I will make sure I am all sorted before reaching the airport
