Just wanted those in the know as lots of slightly differing models though the accessories is what makes the difference.

No. It's a scam.

It's a very old model isn't it, from ten years ago?

Ooo so it's too good to be true?

Yes I believe it is an old model

A link to the bundle might be useful.

Google would suggest that the price is about right, but it's an ancient model and you'd be better off using a modern phone.

I gave away my GoPro 2 black with all the trimmings for a £10 donation to the local mountain rescue.

To be fair it's a cheaper and more environmentally friendly way of filling your junk drawer than buying a new one and in a 'If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?' sense - the footage is identical  🙂

There were also 3 different editions (Black, Silver & White with the Black being the best).

There's someone on Amazon selling a Silver bundle for about £119 new, but £50 seems about right for second hand.

Depending on what you want it for,  there are newer models from cheaper brands that might out perform the Hero 3.

I have a GoPro Hero Session 4 floating around somewhere - when I first got it I thought it was decent. But using it back to back with a Hero 8 black it’s ridiculously bad. From the 7 onwards there was image stabilisation - but having had a 7 and an 8 I’d say the 8 is noticeably better / smoother.

Should be able to pickup an 8 on eBay secondhand for £100 -£150 ish. I think new you can still get them for £199.

Hate to say it but you might as well buy the cheapest oldest GoPro you can get because nobody, including yourself after a few uses, will ever watch the footage back.

No, not even slightly.

You want a hero 7 or higher where they actually have decent stabilisation.

Buying an old camera where the footage really suffers from the shakes is the best way to not bother using the camera. You won't enjoy the footage, and if you share the footage no-one will want to watch it.

Agree with joebristol, I wouldn't bother with a GoPro that didn't have IS.

As above really, it does depend what you want it for. My humble Session 5 is perfectly adequate as a safety camera for cycling (I even run it in 1080 as I don't really need 4K for this). It has image stabilization (which is on & I assume is doing its job) but not Hypersmooth.

It may well be pants for action footage were  I capable of hammering down a mountainside.

You want a Insta360 X4. It's the only way I have managed to get afun/decent picture of myself.

The video makes my riding half reasonable 😉 IMO, as well.

And .. scam above.

How is it a scam as failing to find an ultra bargain such as this 2nd hand.

Anyone shed light on why it's seen as a scam?

I'm now lost completely

Assuming we are talking 2nd hand on ebay/FB marketplace/a friend of a friend - it's probably not. They were wrong.

Well - it 'could' be a scam....like all 2nd hand ads.....but probably not. If I was going to trying to scam it wouldn't be with a 10yr old bit of crap drawer lint - sorry, a go pro 3!

I don't know for sure... Post the link to the bundle if it's online then we can say for sure... But why would you want a 10yo camera? You'd probably get better featured but lesser-known brand from Amazon for not much more.

Due to all the accessories and the fact I do not wish to drop £150 odd on an action cam.

It's just been Xmas too

Plus I despise Amazon cs, their interface site and ethos.

I have a go pro 3 black and it's sooooooooo bad compared to newer cameras. Don't buy it.

Honestly, anything before a hero 7 is really bad off-road. Almost unwatchable.

Looking at Hero 7 on eBay there are quite a few with no bids for well under £100. I’d try and win one of those personally if on a budget.

I don’t know what accessories you want but you can get cheap non-official ones that do the job fine. The stick on helmet mounts / chest harness etc. I’d say it’s not worth mounting the GoPro to the bike as that comes out very bumpy.

Top of helmet mount is probably the smoothest option - but unless you’re proper fast (which I’m not) then quite often the video looks a bit slow.

I find the chest harness is the best combo of smoothness but still feeling the speed.

Totally wrong on your speculation.

It was given to me and not knowing anything about them hence topic I created.

I was gauging what exactly I had been given and if it were a good deal for someone is all.

Nice attitude btw John Doe

I didn't think it was a scam, it just looked like someone was overvaluing their shit.

Now it's clear why.

It was given to you? Then you pluck £49 out of the air as a speculative value? Why wasn’t your OP ‘Hey, I’ve just been given one of these things - are they any good’?

I suggest you have a job-lot to sell, hoped your OP would pique interest about where the ‘deal’ was, then you would share the link to your website.
