Morning all just looking for some advice off Vauxhall owners.

I am borrowing my fathers car for a road trip with is a 60 plate Vauxhall insigna. Was looking at connecting my Ipod to it, found the connection which is one usb port and one 3.5mm jack port.

Dose anyone use this type of connection and if so what cable do you use and where can i buy one from cheaply as my Dad is not bother with ipods etc?

Thanks for the help all.

I would imagine the the standard ipod cable will hook it up via the USB and allow you to control it via the headunit/steering wheel controls. The 3.5mm is your aux in which is for any audio device with a headphone jack. You will need a 3.5mm > 3.5mm cable for that. Maplins etc will sell them in the high street or Amazon on t'net.

....but try the ipod cable first....but be aware not all iPods will always be supported so you may have to default to the 3.5mm option.

Edit:

"Choose from stereo CD radio with MP3 playback and aux-in or state-of-the-art navigation system, featuring a 7” colour display with birds-eye view in 3D and internal 2GB memory, where you can store maps for more than 30 European countries. The up-level systems also feature a USB connection that means you can control your iPod from the steering wheel and the display."

you need one iof these - http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/13901.html
I don't think just the USB will work (It doesnt in my Hyundai which has a similar connection) The 3.5mm goes to the audio out on the radiopn, the USB allows the radio controls to operate the ipod
(edit - cheaper here - http://www.carcables.co.uk/products/CT29IP03-iPod-Aux-Adapter-for-iPod-Cable.html)
